If you have a 3.5 side grinder a cut off wheel will cut it very easy and then you can trim the melted edge with a sharp knife. You could mount an abrasive wheel in your table saw also. Turn the pail backwards. With all abrasive wheels, stand to the side when turning them on. If they are going to break it usually happens on start up.Is there a way to get a smooth cut (instead of jagged burrs) around the diameter of a 5 gallon (food grade #2 or #5) pail? Thanks much!
I skipped the last words in his post too, don't feel too bad. Last bit was "Extractor!". He's making a small homemade extractor out of the pails. For heavier plastic as in a 55 gallon drum you can shave off the burrs with an ordinary wood plane very nicely.
Bee Bliss, I don't understand why you had to cut the bottom out. What are these used for?
