When I bring my nucs home how should I arrange the frames? All together in middle with empty frames on outside edges or empty frame in between brood frames?

keep them in the same order and orientation as in the nuc. Keep them together with the empty frames on the side.
Here's some instructions from Kelley's:

If the outside frames of the nuc are mostly honey then I would spread them and insert combs between those and the other two or three combs. If there are lots of bees you could insert empty combs between all of the other frames, temps are pretty good here in SC and doing so should be okay. Bees need to be plentiful enough to keep brood warm enough to thrive.
I installed my first two April 5th. I had 5 frames of brood hardly no pollen and no honey. I put two brood frames together in center and a empty frame with wax starter strip in between others. I am putting them in 10 frame deep.No brood frame on outside edge. I have been feeding them 1:1 sugar syrup. I checked them last Friday and they are doing well. Storing pollen and making honey outside edge of laying pattern. The brood frames are covered with bees. The frames have a lot of capped brood also. I will arrange my next nucs in the same order as in nuc box. Thanks for information, it really helps. Robert
