The 49th Louisiana Beekeepers Association Convention will be held Friday, December
3rd and Saturday, December 4th at the Embassy Suites, 4914 Constitution Avenue,
Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808. All those interested in beekeeping are invited to join
us for the latest on beekeeping basics, honey bee research, pest management, etc.
There will be something for everyone from beginner to lifetime beekeeper, so join us in
Baton Rouge. A $10.00 registration fee is required to attend. Contact Alva Stuard at
225 261-2032, Sharon Hebert at 337 937-6722, or Jimmy Dunkley at 225 610-2628
for additional information.

A block of rooms will be held for the LBA at a rate of $89.00 plus all associated taxes.
Make your reservations by calling 1 800 362-2779, 24 hours a day. You must mention
the Louisiana Beekeepers Association Convention to get the special rate. Please make
your reservations early as November 25th is the cut-off date.

Standard Hotel Accommodations: The Embassy features a beautifully landscaped
eight story tropical garden atrium, complete with cascading waterfall and koi pond.
This is a great area for LBA friends and family to visit and/or dine.
Hotel suites include roomy bedrooms, with either one king or two full beds, and a
comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room. Suites contain two 25-inch televisions with
cable and pay-per-view channels. Suites also contain a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker,
and microwave.

Hotel guests receive a complimentary cook-to-order breakfast each morning and
complimentary ****tails and light snacks at the afternoon manager’s reception each
day. Excellent seafood, Louisiana specialties and continental dishes are also available at
the hotel’s Zydeco Bar and Grill.

Convention Honey Baked Contest: Don’t forget to enter our annual Honey Baked Contest. Honey baked delicacies are enjoyed at our Convention’s thanks to LBA members. Contest winners receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons.

Convention Auction: Our annual after dinner auction has become a major fund raiser at our annual Convention. LBA members have been very generous and creative with their auction donations. Many hand crafted items have been great auction items and have brought big bids. Please help out again this year if you are able.

Beekeeping Equipment Vendors: Last year the LBA Convention hosted vendors representing Dadant, Mann Lake, and Walter T. Kelley. Vendors carry many of the small supplies a beekeeper needs less shipping charges.
