Ken,

Your hives should be fine as long as they have food available near the cluster, don't know if you installed the bees on foundation, foundationless, or drawn comb. I just installed 10 packages of bees this week also, put them into a medium depth box with foundationless frames, except for one drawn comb of honey or syrup in each hive. I put an inverted feeder jar of syrup over the inner cover hole today and reduced the hive entrance down to 1 inch wide. We are expecting lows in the mid-30's tonight and tommorow night. They should be snug as a bug in a rug.

Mine are also in mediums on foundation and top feeding through inner cover from ball jar 1to1 sugar syrup.

Bees seem to take cold weather ok. Besides it is only over night.
Up here tonight will be about 34. We installed packages last year in weather like this - and the year really never warmed up.
