checked my hives this morning for the first time in 3 weeks. all looked well til I opened my tree bees hive. looked through the frames, found the queen all big and fat turned the frame and thought I seen her again:eek:. had to flip the frame a couple times to make sure I was seeing right;). yep 2 queens on the same frame(opp. sides). I will leave them be to sort it out and put a swarm trap out just in case. good idea or not?

Two queens in a hive is not that unusual. Most people stop looking after they've found one queen, so it isn't really know how prevalent it is to have two queens in a hive.

While a swarm trap won't hurt, I doubt if they are going to swarm due to having two queens.
