I drove 75 minutes this afternoon to get a swarm that had probably 1000-1500 bees in it.

One nice big fat queen though. I needed one, so it's all good. It's the first time I have ever seen any solid black honeybees. They aren't all solid black, probably less than 30% of them, but there are quite a few black ones in there. The queen is very dark also.

Yep, but I got to meet some nice folks. I need queens too and no local people have any. I'm not buying any more VSH Italians.....

I had bad luck with those queens last year. The local mutt queens that I have now have done much better.
