Mann Lake is having a sale on one of their refractometers (http://goo.gl/5uzYL4) and I'm wondering if anyone knows who makes this, and/or has had any experience with it? I'd like to read about it but without a model number, it's not to easy. Anyone have experience with this particular model?
  3. Where To Buy . . .
I've been buying the majority of my bee supplies from Mann Lake for the past five years, but the last few times they have been nothing but miserable to deal with! They have messed up big orders, have not had basic things in stock when it's their slow season, and recently said it would take 3...

Hello everyone: I just purchased frames from Mann Lake for the first time, and noticed the beveling at the top and bottom of the end bars, which creates 8 triangular pockets on the assembled frame. Does anyone know the purpose of these? I have not seen them on other frames that I have...

I need about 3,800 frames, so I'd buy from Pierco because it comes out cheaper. But I'm wondering if Mann Lake is better.

I was speaking with another beekeeper and he told me that his bees wouldn't build wax correctly (or at all on some). Do any of you use yellow plastic frames from Mann lake? If so, do they build wax correctly on them?
  7. Consumer Report
I have nothing but good things to say. I just went through a small order I had placed back in mid-October, and found a few bottom boards and drone frames missing. I called expecting it would way too late for them to help me. They are shipping the missing items to me tomorrow. There aren't many...

I am getting ready to buy a new honey pump to move 80 degree + honey from my sump to holding tanks. Can anyone share actual personal experience with flow rates for Maxant, Kelley, and Mann Lake pumps?
  9. Equipment/Hardware
I just ordered one of Mann Lake's Plastic Uncapping Tank's a few months back. I used it for the first time a few days ago and went to clean it tonight. I ran the metal strainer grate through my dishwasher. To my surprise, it came out totally rusted. Can this be cleaned? Surely it is not good to...

I've been having problems with the wired with hooks wax foundation I purchased from Mann Lake fitting the frames I purchased from Mann Lake. The foundation is too tall. The bottom bars I'm using are grooved. You would think that a company would make sure their products fit together. When I...
  11. Consumer Report
Earlier this year I bought a bunch of medium frames #1 quality. The frames were very nice except for the wedge, it was near paper thin. Hoping it was just that batch. Anyone else bought mannlake lately?
  12. Consumer Report
I placed an order over the internet with Mann Lake well, well after hours (11:00, West Coast). Got my "Your Order should arrive in 5-7 days" email the next morning. Got my order two days later (AND the shipping cost turned out to be $2 cheaper than estimated).
