So I've decided to try and save a weaker hive by moving the into the basement before the blizzard. They are in 2 deeps with plenty of stores and sitting on a screened btm. board. I've put a screen on top and created a screened in 8-10" area outside the bottom entrance for a place to poop and...

Crazy late for a cutout in Ct. right?? But the homeowner is selling the house and the buyer wanted it gone!! Temps got above 50deg. just barely on Sunday so I went for it. Checking my hives for stores and as I pulled the entrance reducer from one I found a pile of dead mites behind it! As I inspected all the bees were up in the top box with all the stores. The bottom box was empty except for a dozen capped cells, some chewing out as I watched. I found the queen...

So we're all baking in this heat wave an the humidity is starting to climb today. Storms are predicted for tomorrow as the air mass is changing. My question is this, Will it be best to remove them now so the honey doesn't absorb any of the moisture in the air & store them inside with the A/C...

I have a big hive started last May that overwintered in 2 deeps. Two weeks ago I installed 2 new packages and donated 2 frames of honey / pollen with a tiny amount of brood, to each package. I took these from the outside edges of the top box in the big hive. My question is will that slow down...
