  1. Beekeeping 101
Hi there, This is my first year opening my hives and I have a few questions. Please bare with me, I tried looking for the answers before I posted but no luck. 2. Equipment/Hardware
Everything I've read about slatted racks indicates they're good for controlling two things: Varroa & Heat. Australia doesn't have the former but we sure have the latter... Which is why I'm so confused that none of the Aussie beekeeping supply stores seem to sell them. Is there something about...

Hey everybody! So I'm sort of still in high school and exploring options right now, and I got a summer job (possibly longer but you know how the season goes for beekeepers) working for a friend of a friend. 7. Top Bar & Horizontal Hive Forum
Hi, I'm brand new to beekeeping and I plan to install package bees in a TBH in the next few weeks. Being brand new to beekeeping I had a few questions that I could not find answers to on the 1. How much space in TBH should I make available for the bees to live in when I install them (how many...
  8. Equipment/Hardware
I have built a top feeder in which the wooden hive box creates a reservoir for the syrup. Can I use a wood waterproof sealant on the inside of the box? I am wondering if it would harm the bees since the sugar syrup would be in contact with the sealant.
