    Default Noticeable differences

Is there noticeable differences in size between a virgin queen and a mated queen? The reason I ask is because I spotted a queen almost the same size as the workers..the weather was bad this past Saturday and mating flights were suppose to happen this past Thursday, the weather started to get colder Thursday morning(60-70 degrees). maybe she’s not mated yet?

Re: Rookie question--do queens grow after mating?
A virgin is barely bigger than a worker. A mated queen is larger. A mated queen who is laying currently is even larger.
The same queen who was laying and larger, gets smaller when she cuts back or stops laying. This is a response from Michael Bush to an old post

I just had to search around to find the answer. Thanks again Michael Bush!
