    Default Another Newbee

I always thought bees were interesting. 15 plus years ago a swarm took up housekeeping in a building on the property. We get along so well everyone calls them my bee buddies. I've had multiple swarms stop by so I built a horizontal hive a couple of years ago for the next one. My kids got me a bee suit this year and around May 1, 2020 I got to use it. I caught my first swarm. NOT the friendly type like my buddies but not as bad as I've seen here. I see a new queen in their future. Looking forward to learning more about my little buddies. Bob W. Thanks. It was my second try at getting bees into the new hive. Missed the queen the first time. I had build a four sided door so i had the excluder side in for a week to make sure queeny stayed put. They may have calmed down a tiny bit.
