Default Too Cool Outside For a Cutout?

Iím wanting to do a cutout on my buddies old farmhouse this weekend. High is 55 and sunny Saturday. I know the bees would be fine, but what about brood in that temp in the open air?

Capped brood is pretty tough and probably can survive being exposed to lower temps, open larvae and eggs not so much. I’d wait if I were you, mistakes happen when your in a hurry.

I did a cutout two weeks ago. The apartment owner needed them gone so I didn’t have a choice. The main problem is that if you don’t get the queen and they try to raise their own, you are not likely in prime drone season just yet. I’d wait if I had the choice.

Our prime time for a good mated queen is about mid March around my neck of the woods, which closely coincides with the average last freeze date.
