I am curious as to what would be the correct name description of the type of bees I have. I started with Italians and still have primarily Italian hives on my yard. I add wild swarms when possible. Over time I know there is some crossing. If I sell bees from my yard, what would I call these type of bees? Thanks
I tell folks my bees are local mutts with Caucasian traits. That is more as a warning since they are heavy propolizers. I also advise them to use a j-hook hive tool to remove the frames (or a jackhammer).
Local bees is an accurate description in most cases. Go with that.
