Default Swarm traps - how big is too big?

I made 2 swarm traps that wound up bigger than expected. Will that affect how well they attract swarms?

    I loosely followed these plans:
    https://horizontalhive.com/how-to-bu...ee-plans.shtml
which makes a trap with about 14 gallons of volume.

My traps wound up at about 19 and 30 gallons mostly because I used wood that I had on hand and was avoiding making too many cuts.

    Trap 1:
    approx 19 gallons
    6 deep frames
    interior: 9.5" wide, 19" deep, 24" tall

    Trap 2:
    approx 30 gallons
    7 deep frames
    interior: 14" wide, 21" deep, 24" tall

This video is of a very large swarm moving into a twelve frame box that had frames twice as deep as a 9 1/8" frame. There were about six frames with comb as bait.

Swarms love big traps as long as they have the right bait.

I'd go with whatever odfrank says. He is an expert par excellence when it comes to swarm trapping.

Well, Charlie- you're way at the top of the game too... he's just been at it longer. I'd have said the same thing if you had offered your opinion.
