    Default Hello from East Tennessee

Hello from east Tennessee. After a thirty year break I decided in mid January 2019 to keep bees again. My first bees arrived in early April 2019, four 3# packages and 16 queens. Between January and April I read a few books on beekeeping and re-read my favorite "How to Keep bees and sell Honey" by Walter T. Kelley and also watched a few hundred youtube videos. I'm currently at 17 hives and all are doing well. My goal is to become a commercial beekeeper.

Welcome, Edward. It sounds like you are off to a great start in your return to beekeeping.

I am impressed that you grew your apiary to 17 hives in a single season.

I look forward to reading about your efforts. Good luck.

Welcome to Bee Source. That's quite an accomplishment raising 17 hives from four packages!
