    Default Beekeeping Licence Transferrable?

I am wondering if anyone might know the answer to this question. We are often running into issues and delays with getting permits in Puerto Rico for apiares we are building. The bureaucracy of this beautiful yet sleepy little island is nightmarish to say the least! Things that should take a few hours or an afternoon often take weeks.

We were told that a work around to this is getting some type of federal license?

After some initial research it seems that every state has its own rules and regulations. The beekeepers here were firm that there was some type of license or documentation that transferred over from the United States to Puerto Rico. If we had it, we could bypass the regulators here in some form.

Wondering if anyone has any feedback or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

The only kind of Federal permit or licensing regarding bees or an apiary that I am aware of relates to putting hives on Federal property, such as US National Forest or BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land.

If the location in Puerto Rico where you wished to place hives was Federal land, then getting a Federal special-use permit may be possible. But if your proposed apiary location is non-Federal land then it won't be relevant.

This is great info! We have actually done some bee removal work for the US forest services in Puerto Rico already. Thank you Rader!
