Question OA dribble -- definite vol to use in a hive??

It was my understanding that each box of brood in a hive was to be treated with OA dribble. A beek colleague told me today she'd read in a packet direction that the actual vol was 50 ml per hive (regardless of # of brood boxes).

Does anybody have a certain, credible answer re: this? I'd like to treat my 3 hives on the warmest day of next week, and don't wanna overdo it (or underdo).

Thx much for any input -- all the best for you and your Girls during the holidays.

    Mitch

50ml per hive is sort of correct. I've always been told, 5ml per seam of bees, so 50 ml would be a hive that has bees in 10 seams.

Just did some of mine today.

5ml per seam of bees/50ml per hive max. You won't have 10 seams of bees this time of year.

    What concentration are you using?

    I use wood bleach -- 35 g in 600 ml syrup.
