    Default Bearding

Ok I have a hive that there is so much bearding they are hanging off the bottom of the SBB. Went in this hive a week ago no swarm cells. To late in year to split. It has been warm and muggy. Should I intervene?

That is not excessive bearding during warm, muggy weather. I would let them alone.

Sickdog, I agree with AR Beek. Hardly bearding at all in your photo. A severe case will look like half the hive is hanging outside the box.
Thankfully, the bees are smarter than I am. They are doing well, in spite of my efforts to help them.

Normal when they get too hot. Make sure they have good ventilation and space for Q to lay.

    It aint much.

    For reference: lateafternoon8-18-2019.jpg

In fact, at other points this summer the bees were covering the east and south walls of the hive (twice as much as the picture).

My grandfather and great-uncle kept bees and my fiancée's grandfather, too. I want to pass this tradition along.
