    Default pumping 2-1 syrup

What would be my least expensive option to pump 2-1 syrup out of a plastic barrel?

If the barrel is open top, a small submersible sump pump works well. If you have bung holes, there are numerous drum pumps available in a wide range of prices. I like David's method best. Either put a bulkhead fitting and valve in the bottom of the barrel, or screw a valve into the one of the bung holes and lay the barrel on it's side to pour out of.
Thankfully, the bees are smarter than I am. They are doing well, in spite of my efforts to help them.

Thanks! I think I will try the gravity method.

With 2:1 you could even use a length of hosepipe rigged-up as a gravity syphon.

I have an old water bed pump (I haven't had a waterbed for years, but still have the pump) that I've tried pumping 2:1 with. It works, but it struggles and the motor gets hot. If you were pumping only a few gallons at a time one would work very well.

Hi, 12V air pump will pressurize your barrel.

After going through a couple cheap pumps, I use a cheap tire inflator, 12v, and pressurize the barrel. It's not very efficient but it works. A longer hose makes it even less efficient.

If someone knows of a actual pump that is fairly cheap, (less than $200) please let us know.
