Default how often honey can be extracted from a hive?

    Hi, everybody,

I have an infection in my skin and I need to add honey every day so that it can be removed but they tell me that a hive can only extract the honey after 3 or 4 months, is that true?

It depends on how much stores they have and what time of year it is and the likelyhood of a continued flow. As long as there is a flow and the prospect of a continued flow, you could steal enough to put on your skin every day...

If you’ve got nectar coming in, probably wouldn’t hurt to go in and scrape what you need off of a frame or two, they’ll rebuild it. Just squeeze thru cheesecloth to get the wax out.
Might want to update your profile for location, someone in your area might have a pint for you to use.

Does it have to be fresh out of the hive? Even if honey is only harvested one time a year, it can be stored for use as needed.
