    Default Hello from Cape Cod Massachusetts

    Brand new to Beekeeping. We don't even have a hive yet, the bees just showed up in our window well. We double checked, and they are honey bees (see pics). We are reading and formulating a plan to trap them out in the spring. The pictures are of the nest entrance in the window well and one of the bees feeding at the humming bird feeder.
    Advice is welcome!

    Welcome, I’m editing my post. Usually honey bees don’t go below ground like that. They usually like to get above grade, it just looks suspiciously like a ground bee nest to me, but anything is possible lol.

    Well, they didn't make it.
    A critter destroyed the nest.
    We will get our bees elsewhere.
    Looking forward to learning from this forum!

    Good luck!

    See if you can find a local beekeeper who will sell packages or nucs of bees.

    Local bees should be more well adapted to your climate.
