    Default moving trapped swarm

I caught my own swarm yesterday in my yard using a nuc box, but it's not where I'd like to locate the new colony. How do I go about moving it? At night, obviously, but I'm concerned about losing bees that try to fly back to the old location of the trap. It's more than three feet but less than three miles . Thanks.

Move the nuc where you want it to be either late evening or early am, but do it ASAP. Put a qe under the box to keep the queen in. You will be fine. The bees are not oriented to the new location quite yet. Remove the qe after a week.
Thankfully, the bees are smarter than I am. They are doing well, in spite of my efforts to help them.

stick something in front of the entrance, this will cause them to reorient to the new location.
