    Default DIY Bee Vac question

I'm building a bee vac and would like to know what the optimal diameter intake (sucking part) hose is?
The one I was planning on using has an inside diameter of 1-1/4". It seems to have pretty good suction but I haven't tested it on real bees yet. I would hate to get a bee jam in the hose.

I like the 1.25; it can get into most places. Too much suction can be a problem and you'll need a controllable relief hole at the vacuum side. I generally use 50% on a 20 foot hose. Corregation on the hose is not a problem with the correct suction.
