Re: Some graphs not capped?
I use a 5 frame nuc as a starter/finisher. During a grafting workshop I recently attended, it was suggested that two full rounds was all you could reasonably expect. I am pulling the capped cells tomorrow and dropping the second round Sunday while the capped cells finish in the incubator for another 3 days. After the second round, two cells will remain in the nuc and be allowed to emerge.
To your original question, have the nights been cooler? And are there still a ship load of bees in the starter? Thinking of things that might slow the development of the larvae.
Thankfully, the bees are smarter than I am. They are doing well, in spite of my efforts to help them.
