6 days?? Sounds like you want to vacation with bees on board. can you bring a second person and drive straight thru in like 48Hours. A saturated sponge for water in each NUC would help. Inside the car with AC, in a mesh bag ,straight thru would be the only way I would do it.
I did 4 from Iowa that way only 18 hours though.

Thanks to all for responding--Traveling with NUC's will not happen.

Don't want a chance to break any rules or kill them in the process to save a buck.

Personally I think that's a better plan, but seriously consider swarm traps if you don't have any out. They work, of course not all of the time but I've been getting free bees virtually every year since I decided to start.

I can think of at least a couple places in Southern Maine where you can get NUCs in the spring instead of driving to Florida. It just seems like more work and trouble than it's worth. Most of the NUCs we get around here are from the southern states. It would be better to drive 12 hrs round trip than 24+/- each way...... Just a thought.....

I know of a few suppliers in Northern Maine where you can get Nucleus Colonies or you could get some packages and re-queen them with good local stock. Both of those would be a MUCH better option...
