    Default Need new barrel lift

I need to get a new barrel grabber for the forklift. I've heard to stay away from the one from Mann Lake. Any recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Craig

We use a parrot beak style, the name brand of which escapes me. It attaches directly to the forklift where the forks attach. I will try to report back with the brand name.

Do you guys think it would warrant going to the 1500# Uline because of the added weight capacity?

I've never seen a barrel of honey weigh over 700 pounds.
I have exactly ONE more hive than you.
That makes my opinion beyond dispute!

Thanks Harry, I thought about that, but I have the bad habit of overbuilding everything I make. (according to my wife)

I bet that "bad habit" has benefited you far more than it has ever hindered you. I am all about overbuilding.

Harry, I’ve had some of those tall Argentina drums weigh 720. Still not 1500.

the vestil model with those adjusters looks promising.

I've had some uraguay barrels that the rings are not as defined slip through, and having access to those adjustments might make a better grip.

Perhaps, though I probably wouldn't be patient enough to make the adjustments. I grab those drums with less defined rings under the lid and don't typically stack them atop other drums.

liftomatic. Be aware that after 40 years the springs may need replacement. We typically lifted 2 barrels at a time and stacked 3 high.
