Default Small Hive Beetle Larvae Survive Two Days of Solar Melting

We had a SHB larvae invasion of our extracting room floor. They seemed to be coming out of a bucket full of recently extracted cappings. We dumped the bucket into the solar melter and even two days later there were surviving larvae crawling around.

    The wax came out orange?

I put a few "direct from the hive" slimed frames into the melter thinking it would make short work of their nasty little butts. Much to my surprise and chagrin, the same thing as you identified happened, the little beggars crawled all over the place and a pain to clean up. However, I didn't get orange wax but I did run it through the melter a second time to clean up any residual honey and debris.
