Default Opinon on who refunds a dud queen ???

I have a queen I purchased and hived her on the 5/11 . I checked the box and 5/14 and they had chewed thru the candy and released her . This was a deep 5 frame split with 1 frame of honey, 2 frames of capped and open brood, pollen and eggs in different stages and 2 partially drawn frames. I fed the new nuc 1/2 pint of syrup . On 5/23 I checked and no new signs of eggs , I found the queen, they had chewed the mark off her, but the hive was acting normal and had a few workers flying in and out with pollen, no queen cells . I know this company gets its queen second hand should I give her a few more days and check again or just ask for a another ? This is a first for me, usually if a mated queen I introduce fails it because she was killed ????

    regards
    Brad

How did you "introduce" the queen?
Why did you check "the box" only 3 days later?

I have exactly ONE more hive than you.
That makes my opinion beyond dispute!

you bought a marked queen, found a unmarked queen in her place.

my guess is they killed the queen you purchased due to the fact there was a queen in there already.

    1) Off my biggest hive I smoked down all the bees from the top hive body placed a queen excluder inbetween the 2 deeps. I waited 3 days , made the split and waited 10 minutes and sat the queen with attendants on top of the split and noticed their behavior which didn't seem aggressive , no active stinging action.
    2) 3 days later I didn't inspect the hive I peeked thru the lid saw the bees had chewed thru the candy and removed the cage.

    3) When I did inspect the hive 5/23 I found the marked queen, they chewed off most of the red coloring but a small portion was still visible .

    Thanks for the replies

A cup of syrup isn't enough to do anything. Give them more syrup if they're taking it and give the queen a few more days imo

For reals...I wouldn't mess with the hive at all until at least a week. Even peeking.

Most likely this, but they will remove marks.

Had this the other week, purchased some queens for drone mothers, they came paint marked, clip her and introduce.

Week later no eggs, no bright red mark. So I push in cage another queen. Four days later I come back, queen in push in laying, also eggs outside push in. Search around, find an unmarked queen ... with her wings cleanly clipped. So for sure, they can quickly remove paint marks entirely.
