Just looking for tips. GregV said he sweeps out when he gets a chance, but not as a primary effort.
My bees are building back up right now, unfortunately will be 3 cold rainy days in a row, however when I opened up the hive last week I swept out a good amount of dead bees, but did not go under the last 6 or so brood bars.
When I look in the entrance, I definitely see a pile of bees, up to the bottom of the first comb, which I assume continues under the others.
Will they typically eventually get to cleaning all this up, or might it remain there? Last year was my first year, and I was amazed at how pristine they kept the bottom.
This year, it now looks like they have become slobs...
