Default Populate 4 Frame Nuc - couple of questions

I build a bunch of 4 frame nucs. My plan is to put queen cells in with 1 frame of brood and three empty frames. Maybe one frame of honey. Will be feeding.

    1. Can I close these off for the first 48 hours so the bees don't go back to the original hive, just like moving a hive?

    2. How close can the nuc be to the original hive?

Make sure you have pollen coming in. I place the nuc where the original hive was so I capture some of the field bees; then wait 2 days and put on robber screens and would feed. YMMV

Give them a good shake of nurse bee when you make the splits. The nurse bees will stay on the brood when you move them.
