Sent email not saved

My Sent Email folder is always empty, so I can't review what I've said. Is there a switch someplace, or is this a known glitch?

Any clues will be much appreciated

I just checked mine and I have sent emails but haven't sent one since 2017.

check your settings mine is set to
Sent Private Messages:
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default
