    Default What is this? (pics)

First very superficial inspection today, and one of my hives is gone. Looks like they left (no large amount of dead bees anywhere), and the only bees coming in/out seem to be simply robbing.

The comb looked odd, with 'debris' of flaky whitish flecks, a few dead bees head-out, and what looks like spider webs on some cells...

Pics below... just wanting to know: 1) what is that stuff? and 2) think I'd be safe to reuse that comb?

    Many thanks!

Thanks! If I put that into a new hive (nuc), will they just clean it and reuse?

I'd freeze it for 24 hours before reusing. Can't tell from the picture but wax moths can leave a spider web looking trail in the cells. Better safe than sorry.
