    Default Thousand Dollar Challenge

I guess some folks will do nearly anything for money.

"Aurel Braguta challenged his pal Jamie Grainger to sit on a swarm with his bare bum on a farm in Matamata".

A new reason to keep bees - no prescription necessary as compared to Viagra!

Here is today's tough philosophical question ...

Who is the bigger fool - the guy who collected the $1000 or the guy that paid the $1000?

... or from an economists's point of view ... what is the marginal utility of money?

The utility theory is interesting, perhaps that is why you get offered some incentive or commodity you don't actually want, if you buy a particular product. Like a guy who knocked on our door a couple days ago offering a TV if we signed up to the power plan he was selling.

As to the bigger fool, to me it is the guy who paid it. Why? Because beekeeping involves working hard under the hot sun, while carrying heavy weights and being stung by insects. Torture really.

A few stings on the butt is almost normal routine, so for a grand I'd have to consider it .

No thanks! I rather take it the slow way. Who say you have to work hard under the hot sun and lifting
the heavy weights. For stings we have the vented jacket now. Lifting a 5 frame nuc hive isn't a lot of
effort to me either. Last year's assembled nuc boxes is very handy for this season's hive expansion. Ohh, about the
triple digit under the hot sun we're having now, I do night time beekeeping. At least this way the virgins won't be
flying away. And the big fat breeder queen will not get crushed under my foot anymore. You can make it hard or easy on
    yourself.
Don't mix foreign bees into a virgin hive. She might get balled 100% of the time! When will you ever learn, huh?
