Over the last few days it seems that my bees have slowed down at the hive. There is chance of rain wensday and then it will get in upper 80s for three days or so. Hoping that is the time cause my hives are not gaining yet.

Finally saw goldenrod bloom in North Texas this week! Bees were super busy bringing nectar.

Here in NW CT they are just starting on the goldenrod (judging by the lovely smell) but they haven't given up on the Autumn Joy sedums yet, still working them like mad along with some IMG_2880.jpg Monarch Butterflies!! Doesn't everything seem to be late this year?

It does a bit, but still smelling it. Today, in a brood factory yard, the GR was covered with Painted Lady butterflies.

Really started smelling it today while looking at the hives. Finally got some warmer weather after being unseasonably cool for a while. I can really tell there's a flow now from the activity at the hives today.

Me2. Have not smelled it until today. It's been either too dry, too cool, or both.
Spose to rain a couple days. That's good news.
There are a few goldenrod plants blooming in one of the yards.
Ditches are full of it around here.

we had a some of the earlier blooming variety a few weeks ago, but the variety that produces the big nectar flow in most years (given enough rain) is just now coming into full bloom.

i caught the first little whiff of it today in the beeyard.
