At Walmart I saw a 25lb bag of sugar goes for $14. At my local grocery store it is just around the same price. That's $0.56 a pound.
Is sugar that expensive for everyone?
Where do you get your sugar?

Seems there is a general price increase about everywhere. Until a few weeks ago, sugar at Costco was $0.49/lb. 2 weeks ago it was $0.54.
At my local Walmart the national brand of sugar was $.55, while the WM brand was on sale at $.39. Local grocery store has frequent sales on sugar this time of year because it is canning season and they sometimes beat WM's price. Keep your eyes open, especially this time of year. Stock up if you can and store it in a clean, dry, mouseproof container.
Still cheaper than honey.![]()

You have to go to a "bargain store" like Save-a-Lot or whatever the el cheepo is in your location.
They'll have a sale every so often where it's $1.19 for four pounds.
That German chain-grocery store has a sale like that too but you can only buy six bags at a time.
Internet credibility is an oxymoron

Sams Club is at $11.34 here for some time. Right now I am using a lot and always get the bootlegger comment.
At what price cross over point does it become more economical to feed HFCS?
I can run the numbers for cost per gallon of 2:1/5:3/1:1 vs a gallon of HFCS. Just not sure if the bees treat HFCS as a different concentration.
Or should I not over think it and treat it as if it's 2:1.
