I won't be able to describe the quality of queen, or her genetics yet as she just got hived today. She looks great. I will update once I have time to observe her.
VP and I are almost as far as you can get from each other while remaining in the continental US. Shipped via UPS, total ship time from SC to Port Angeles Washington was only 14hours. Packaging was superb, all attendants were alive. Package came complete with an export health certificate attached to the box.
There was a delay of a few weeks, that is understandable considering bees and weather. Adam went above and beyond, even calling me to discuss my instrumental insemination project that I had posted questions on beesource about. With his advice, I was able to successfully introduce my own II queens. His advice likely saved me much heart ache, as it was contrary to my typical way of dealing with queens. I was unaware II queens required some special care on introduction.
$200 for Queen, $60 for shipping. For a VSH II Queen, $200 seems to be on the low end of pricing. $60 for shipping was less than I have been quoted for nearer queen breeders,
Great, I plan to make 2 more queen purchases next year.
I'm very shocked with the number of professionals in this industry that typically cater to higher end clients that have been willing to go the extra mile for a hobbyist who is taking his hobby a bit to far.
