    Default Editing Location

I need to edit my location in my profile, but there isn't an edit button for that field in my profile. How can I change it?

    Thanks.

I just tried to find it, but it appears to be disabled. I see the field on the About Me page, but don't have the ability to edit it.

Same here. Maybe a mod will shed some light on the situation.

Send a PM to Barry for consideration.

To change my location takes a note to a mod? Barry has to have better things to do!

    PM sent.

Dis-allowing editing of the member location field is a deliberate choice on Barry's part ...

If I allow members to "edit" their location, there will be those that will go in and delete this information. So, for the sake of some, the rest have to be hand tied as well. Sorry. I also use this feature to help weed out spammers during registration. I can check their location against their IP address.

Simply email or PM me when you want it changed.

Is it just me, or are people's locations not visible anymore? Used to be very useful to see what country/region someone was from when reading their posts, but after this latest tinkering with the forums, location isn't anywhere to be seen.

Locations are STILL visible, in the same place (upper right of each post) they have been ever since I have been reading Beesource (5+ yrs). In your post for instance, I clearly see "Location: Izard County, AR, USA".

Perhaps what has changed for you is your device.

Beesource looks different on my smartphone than it does on a full monitor. I don't use my smartphone for Beesource very often.

No, I'm using the same desktop computer that I have had for years. I just came here through through Chrome, which I rarely ever use, and everything looks like you described, as it always has. But through Firefox, which is what I usually use, the layout is weird, locations aren't visible, everything is blue, and it still says V-Bulletin as the logo, instead of Beesource, etc...

Here are pics of my view of this site through Firefox:

I normally use Chrome, but here is what Firefox looks like for me ...

I edited my post to add images, but I think you replied before I finished adding them, so here is what the site looks like in Firefox:

You might want to check your settings. Under general settings, make sure the "forum skin" is set to "vB4 default"
