How long would you say it takes a queen to begin laying? Starting as an egg.

It varies by weather, time of mating flight, and race. Mine seem to be laying at day 11 or 12 after giving cell. so egg to egg, in my case, seems to be about 24-25 days.

    Hey Michael,
When you place cells in mating nucs do you protect them? Is there a trick to attaching cell to the frame?

No. I pinch the cell cup between two center top bars.
