Hey all, new beek here.
Is it typical for the girls to attach comb from the top of the frames in the first box to the bottom of the frames in the second box? My hive is only two boxes high at the moment.
This is the second time I've gone in and pulled apart some comb in the process. I felt really bad because I pulled apart some uncapped brood and a few little larvae spilled out on top of the frames. I saw a couple workers tending to them... I didn't know what else to do besides leave them there in hopes they'll get reinserted back into a cell by the workers.
Just trying to figure out if this is a typical thing that I shouldn't worry about, or something I'm doing wrong. Is there anything I can do different?
They don't seem to want to expand up, so I checkered the frames from the bottom up into the top box - hopefully that'll help them move up.
