    Default Cheapskate...

Bought +-9lb whole pork loin at Sam's for just a bit under $15. Carved it up into 20 portions averaging 7oz each, for a hair under 75 cents per portion of very excellent and tender center-cut pork chops. Far better than what I was getting for chops at 'local big grocer' for a heckuva lot less money.

    Yup
We're not really into re-cutting our our meats( generally get half a cow at a time from a family member cattleman), but we do do buy cereals, dry mixes & raisins in the "Giant economy" sizes, then dry can in the oven, or vacuum seal in glass jars. Now that the kids moved out, it lasts a lot longer. Be sure to label & date! sometimes "mystery powder" isn't what I thought it was !
