Another swarm on the 6th of July. This must be a hot spot as this is the third swarm this year within about 20' of each other all with different placements.http://s1055.photobucket.com/albums/...t%3Dimage9.jpg
There's three ways to do everything...the wrong way, the right way, a better way.
Hived my first swarm 2/6/2013 from Charleston,SC. About 3 #.
Caught one 4 to 5 lb swarm today 23969 Reidville, SC They're in a 5 frame NUC with 2 frames of drawn comb. Hope they stay!
I forgot about posting swarm dates here. My very first swarm was Apr 3, 2013 around 1:30ish near Greer, SC 29651. I'm not sure if these were my bees or not. My husband was on the back deck when the back yard got thick with bees. He seems to thing they are stranger bees, attracted to the boxes we had just split a week before. I was at the grocery store getting deli ham when he called me and said, Ah, I think your bees are swarming. I said, Naw! I split them so they wouldn't. Anyway, it was exciting. By the time I got home, they had landed in the dogwood in front of the hives. I made a video and put it on FB. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151468418787900
Hi Maine Beekeeper, I'm in S.C. and caught a huge swarm today in the backyard. So glad to get it as one of mine swarmed about a month ago. Blessings.

4th swarm hived this week. Upstate South Carolina.
4/17 Trenton, SC
Today. Small about 2 lbs. Time 1:00pm.
Hived large swarm yesterday here in lower SC. Sunny afternoon. Also, hived a swarm Saturday, 3/29/15 middle of day. My brother has hives nearby and has caught two this past weekend. Hampton, SC 29924
What is needed:
- zip code, city or county
- date when the bees swarmed or when you found the swarm.
- comments - example: if the swarm came from your hive, or if you were called to pick up a swarm, how long was it there. This is not for cutouts unless the bees just took up residence and are not established. It would also be great to include a small photo of the swarm.
This forum is not for general discussion.
Regards, Barry
Swarm moved into a swarm box in Easley today. Baited with lemongrass oil.
Caught a swarm in Pendleton, 15 feet up in the air. Just before I got there it moved up from a lawn chair to make it a lot harder. Got a call from the extension office.
