Just captured my first swarm from a hive I brought home last evening, knew it was extremely full, but no time to inspect yet. Approx. 3# swarm 40' up in a hickory tree. Cleveland, OK 70 and partly cloudy.

Appears to be a swarm taking up residence in a bait hive 7' high in a lone oak in the middle of my pasture. Lot of bees coming an going, but I'll inspect tomorrow to be sure. Sometime in the past 5 days. May or may not befrom my hives?

I did verify that a swarm has taken up residence in my bait hive! My first. Approx. 2# swarm. Temps in the upper 80's to 90 and humid. NE Oklahoma. They have started in a foundationless frame and I did verify there is a queen.

    Default Oklahoma

    What is needed:

    • zip code, city or county
    • date when the bees swarmed or when you found the swarm.
    • comments - example: if the swarm came from your hive, or if you were called to pick up a swarm, how long was it there. This is not for cutouts unless the bees just took up residence and are not established. It would also be great to include a small photo of the swarm.

This forum is not for general discussion.
    Regards, Barry
