May 13 two calls within 5 inutes of each other. Both in Idaho Falls. First was basketball size on bottom limb of pine tree (easy catch) other was inside tunnel of broken concrete on ground. (not so easy catch) My first 2 swarms ever. Cool!
Zip 83350 Rupert, Idaho
5-4-13 1 swarm
5-10-13 1 swarm
5-12-13 2 swarms
5-14-13 4 swarms
This picture is of one of the swarms last night. The coolest looking one I have ever caught. All of the 8 swarms have been 3 feet or less off the ground. All have stayed home so far to. The weather here warmed up to 80-90 degrees this last week and the bees have gone crazy. About out of equipment.
Caught number 12 today.

Out of twelve, two decided to abscond today. Bugga. The other 10 are going strong though. Hope they keep going strong. I guess your bound to lose some. Just try and try again.
Picked up my first three swarms of the season tonight. All three were around 5 lbs. All three were about a foot off the ground and were real easy to slip into the box. Hived them all, brought them home and fed them and now the waiting game to see if they stay home. I love the swarm season. Caught 18 swarms here in Rupert Idaho last year. Want to break that and get at least 20 this year. Happy hunting to all.
Picked up two more swarms last night. Around 4-5 lbs of bees. Both about 1 1/2 feet off the ground. I sure hope they are all this easy this year. I'm sure I just jinxed myself. Still having fun with this swarm catching. 83350
Caught 5 swarms tonight in good old Rupert, Idaho. All were 3-4 lbs. It was a great night. Suppose to be around 80 degrees tomorrow. Should be another good day. That makes 14 total so far. 83350. Started the spring with 12 hives, now up to now up to 26.
Caught numbers 24, 25 and 26 last night. All about 4-5 lbs. Checked the other 23 I have caught and they are all queen right. I love catching swarms. Now puts me up to 35 hives and still of couple of good weeks of swarm season left.
date when the bees swarmed or when you found the swarm.
comments - example: if the swarm came from your hive, or if you were called to pick up a swarm, how long was it there. This is not for cutouts unless the bees just took up residence and are not established. It would also be great to include a small photo of the swarm.
First swarm ever for me, yesterday - 4/6/16. Zip 83651. West side of Nampa.
Swarm had just arrived that afternoon and was balled up in a shrub next door to my friend's home. Don't know where it came from, but there are a couple of large beekeeping operations within about a half mile. Temps in the low 70s and the first really nice day in a while.
from Rupert drove 35 miles at 4 a.m swarm spent the night in the grass by a school bus stop,,was in danger of being sprayed,, 3 ft circle abut 2 inches thick,,my first good capture,,,4/21/16 cassia county
Yesterday, 5/11. Small swarm about 15' up a tree. Sw Nampa. Friends of family called soon after it arrived. They were dangling from a limb about the diameter of string. Maybe a pound and a half of bees. Guessing, an after swarm?
