Alder pollen evident on male catkins. Bright yellow, and bees are bringing in bright yellow pollen. Willow pollen is also yellow, so not sure which.
Alnus tenuifolia or Alnus rugosa I suspect here around the yard.
First day they have been observed coming in with full pollen baskets. Huzzah!

"There is a balm in Gilead..."
The smell is unmistakable, and the bright red colour of the pollen clusters, racemes, whatever they are...I think the pollen is yellow.
Stickies will be dropping everywhere soon. The leaf and flower casings stick to everything. Interesting that the sticky substance is called propolis.Do the bees use it?
Willow bloom is full on across the county. All pussy willows showing yellow.
