Mine are starving. I am putting over 100 lbs. of sugar to my hives and yesterday it looked like somebody had pressure washed the feeders. There was not even a frame of open nectar. I am into my last 50 lb. of surplus sugar and I am concerned that I am spread too thin (with a bad knee).

Crocus are coming up. Forsythia seems on the verge of blooming. Saw daffodils too, but no dandelions yet. Been pretty rainy and chilly (below freezing at night, about 40s/50s during day).

Various wildflowers, tiny purple flowers. Maybe violet? Saw some at Oregon Zoo in the new insect exhibit.

Zonedar, could you post a current photo of Big Leaf Maple trees in your area?

Here's a photo from right behind my hives. This is at the 97123 location @1200ft. Not quite in bloom yet. Sorry for the crappy photo. The camera didn't want to focus on the bud.

Down in the valley (97124 @ 150ft) they are blooming. As soon as I get back down there I'll see if I can get a pict.

What a goofy weather year. Had a 70 degree day (latest high temp date day over 65 on record here). Trees and flowers that usually go early are all just starting to bloom-and other plants are on schedule.
I have Gravenstien, Liberty, King and other full size apples that have been in bloom for a couple of days and just now got the first crab apples.
Wild plum, early plum and Italian plum (one of the latest) all in bloom.
Wild cherries, choke cherries, Bing, Anne, Tartan.
    Asian pear and Peaches
A large patch of Vinca minor that usually blooms in February is blooming hard.
    Vineleaf maple
Weather predicted to go back to 50’s and rain.

Seeing daffodils, small pasture wildflowers, tulip tree, ornamental fruit trees (cherry I think) in town/Evans Creek Valley.

    Rogue River, OR
    97537

in Grants Pass, OR ornamental fruit trees are much further along.

Haven't seen any dandelions in either place.
