Some Maples blooming, others my wife still has taps running...
    Daffodils began opening today
Had 2-3 days of 70 degrees this week
Pollen started showing up last week.
Half of bees flying are bringing pollen now. yellow, olive, and gray/white pollen

    Southeast Missouri.
    Hindsight is 20/10, not 20/20...
After the fact, I always know what didn't work.

Today I saw dandelions and clover blooming for the first time this year. They were on the south edge of a school building. The spot gets a lot of sun and the building reflects a lot of heat onto the ground. I didn't see blooming outside of that immediate area, nor did I see any bees foraging on the flowers.

Near St Louis in eastern Missouri.

First two dandelions in garden along the side of a raised bed. Some little bitty white and purple flowers on some ground cover type vegitaion. Easter lilly have pods on them but none blooming. Bees are no longer mobbing the chicken feed. Don't know what it means but I am in the 63091 zip code area.

Getting ready to spray dormate oil on my fruit trees and found I am too late. The peach trees are budding and though not open you can see they are full of white flowers about to open. plum, pear and apple seem to not be in the same shape. Seems early by about two weeks if I can trust my memory. Will probly lose peaches to freeze. zip code 63091.

Saw my first periwinkle of the year today (11 March 2016). I can't find a definitive source as to whether honey bees can even access the nectar in periwinkles, so if anyone knows, please post.

Last 2-3 days, with all the warm rainy weather, the Bradford pear trees have exploded into bloom. As above, no idea if bees work them or not.
Our plum trees are blooming as well

First woodland wildflowers started opening up today around my house. Saw a lot of spring beauties (Claytonia virginica) blooming.

I saw Cutleaf Toothwort wildflowers in bloom for the first time on 23 March 2016. This is a honeybee-friendly flower. I also saw a Yellow Violet wildflower in bloom on the same day, but I don't think that is a nectar source for honeybees. Still not seeing any bloom on my sugar maples, but hopefully in the next few weeks.
