Your report seems to put you almost two weeks behind my area.

Well gww, I am a bit late in the report and the fruit trees started early in the week last week, but there's a week and a half generally between us at least. I get to Columbia most weekends and can watch the season changes coming most of the time. I like hearing your reports because it gets me looking forward to what's coming soon here.

Blackberry are coming on pretty good now. Surprisingly the bees are favoring dewberries though.
Heard folks in Mo. with locust bloom but none here yet.
White clover started blooming this week.

I have a few white yard clover blooming in a sheltered and rich place in my garden. None in the yard yet. I hope all of your queens are returning mated.

Over the last week I've seen yellow sweet blossom clover coming on strong, plus the catalpa trees have bloomed.

Here's a picture of catalpa I just took at a local park:

Yesterday I saw bees working vine honey suckle. I had thought they could not access the nectar on the vine like they can the bush. It surprised me to see this.

My understanding is Bumble Bees damage it when they work it, then Honey Bees can get to it. Same with Red clover. I read that on the internet, so take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks alex. Now that you mention it, I also remember reading that on the honey suckle. I don't remember the red clover though that would be good as that is what is in my field. I did see a bumble bee working the same honey suckle that I saw two bees working.
    Thanks

Ps, the vine honey suckle is taking over my area and seems very damaging to me.

mountain mint is starting its bloom. I know the bees like it and there seems to be more of it then the cucumber and zucchini in the garden. Still good yard clover but the coming heat will probably take that out. I have not pulled supers yet and hope the rain extends the flow just a bit longer.
    Sorry, no pictures.
