Bowling Green, KY area

4/14/05 Ilex x meserveae (ornamental holly hybrids)

4/21 Dogwoods (Cornus Florida)in full bloom in the city. Just getting going in the country so this is probably a good average date. Although we are having a very late spring in general so don't let that throw you off.

Robinia pseudoacacia

April 25, 2005

Area south of Bowling Green, KY, 42170, 42101

These trees were NOT blooming April 24th.

Racemes were half way open on younger trees today, April 28. Older trees seem to come along a bit more slowly.

Apples and ornamental purpleleaf plums just finished.

Re: Post Your Bloom Dates - 2011

2/18/11 Bees bringing in pollen, can see some maple trees beginning to bloom. Not sure if maples are the source. When I look at the pollen collected from a bee under a microscope it is football shaped w/ very rounded ends. color is dull yellow/khaki. Bees have been active for three days. This is the first day I have seen pollen coming into the hives. any input?
