Had 5 days of pretty good rains after over 3 weeks of nada. Hopefully a good Sourwood flow...

    This past weekend.
    The white asters started blooming.
Today I observed honey bees, bumble bees, and wasps all over them.

I hadn't been paying close attention so they might have been blooming earlier. A side note, the blooms were open in the morning but they had closed four hours later. Another side note, it was 47 degrees and a honey bee was foraging on them.

I have been seeing dandelions in the yard blooming for a couple of weeks now but didn't think to post it.

Dandelions have been blooming here for a week or two. (Walton County - between Atlanta and Athens) I treated my hives the day after Christmas (OAV) and saw several bees bringing in orange pollen. Not sure if that was dandelion or not.

Just noticed them, but from how developed they are I think they may have actually bloomed earlier this week.

Again, I just noticed these, but by their development, I'd say they could have been open for a few days. But then again it was raining and snowing all week, so maybe they decided to open today because of the break in the clouds and sunlight.

The Bartlett pear trees in my yard finally decided to bloom. To me it looked like they were waiting for a break in the rain. Last year they bloomed February 24.

Also, some time last week our plum "trees" started to bloom.
