these past few days have been the first all out pollen gathering days since the solstice. we had decent henbit coming in on the warm up just previous to this one, and still have some henbit coming in with this warm up, but by far the pollen of choice is now that dirty light yellow tree pollen most likely coming from elms, wing barked elm in particular. this marks the beginning of our spring brood up here.

I'm seeing lots of ornamental cherry, dogwood, redbuds, cherry laurel, the end of the forsynthia & dandelions, little wild violets, creeping phlox, vinca minor, henbit, dandelions, trillium, a bit of dutch clover.
Apologies if some of these aren't bee plants -- I'm not sure if any of them should be excluded!
